Books etc: November 2025
Everyone in the industry seems to be looking at how to get new people into wine – and that is especially true when it comes to books.
A lot of those that land on my desk are introductory offerings, targeted at soft-launching wine for today’s drinkers. Each of the authors claims to be trying to do something different (or at least their PR firm does) – but all too often the results can be formulaic, repetitive and downright boring. Two new sommelier-authored books – Jordan Salcito’s Smart Mouth and Drinking the World: A Wine Odyssey by Bert Blaise and Victoria Brzezinski – genuinely aren’t.
